Gabriel uses the Family Tag Maintenance function to "tag" groups of families. A Family Tag is a way of creating subcategories for families. Examples might include Weekly Bulletins Mailed, Weekly Bulletins Emailed, Online Contributors, Snowbird Families, Hispanic Families to name a few.
Creating A New Family Tag
Scroll to Families > Family Tag Maintenance > New Tag.
A Family Tag Maintenance box will pop up. Type your Tag Name and click Save.
Adding Families To the Family Tag Group
You can add families to the the Family Tag through Family Tag Maintenance or while in the Family Record.
Add a family while in Family Tag Maintenance: Scroll to Families > Family Tag Maintenance and click on the Tag Name. This will open a screen to allow you to add families. Begin entering the last name of a family and a drop-down list of names will appear. Select the correct family and click on Add.
Clicking on View will allow you to edit the Tag Name. Clicking on Delete will delete the entire Tag including any families that are currently in the Tag. Clicking Delete while in the Family Tag will delete the Family-only.
Add a Family Tag while in the Family Record: Go to the Tags tab in the family record and select New Tag. A Family Tag Maintenance box will pop up. If you click on the down arrow a list of all your current Family Tag groups will appear. Select the Family Tag group and hit Save.
If you click on View while in the Family Record you can change the Family Tag group to another Family Tag group. If you click on Delete it will delete the family from the Family Tag group.
